District 70 Candidates
The following candidates will represent our traditional common-sense values in our local district

D70 District 5
Ann Bennett
Ann Bennett, a proud product of Rye, Colorado, attended all three local schools before her family relocated to Arizona. Her small-town upbringing instilled values she has carried into every stage of life. In adulthood, Ann served in cross-cultural ministry with a focus on ethnography, traveling extensively and living abroad while raising her five children. As her older children became adults, Ann launched her own business supporting banks, HUD, and Fannie Mae in maintaining foreclosed homes. That work grew into a successful career, and today she holds both a General Contractor’s license and a Real Estate license, focusing on building spec homes.
Her life experiences—rooted in family, enriched by global perspective, and strengthened through entrepreneurial success—drive her desire to serve. Ann is committed to supporting District 70’s families, students, and teachers, ensuring safe, high-quality education and opportunities for every child to thrive.

D70 District 4
Dr. Andrea Wade
Dr. Andrea Wade grew up in District 70 and graduated in 2003. As a parent, she was proud to have her own children attend District 70 schools. She went on to earn a doctorate in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in community organizations and is now a certified special education teacher with 18 years of experience.
Throughout her career, Andrea has dedicated herself to putting students first and helping them become productive members of society.

“Education should focus on teaching students how to think, not what to think.” - Charlie Kirk
District 60 Candidates
The following candidates will represent our traditional common-sense values in our local district

D60 At-Large
Dr. Derion Ibarra
Derion Ibarra was born and raised in Pueblo and is proud to be a product of this incredible community. A graduate of Pueblo East High School, he earned his undergraduate degree while playing football at Colorado State University–Pueblo. He later earned both his Master’s and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Research, and Policy from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
Derion began his career as a math teacher and personal trainer before moving into curriculum development for a public school network and contributing to educational research at the university level. Today, he serves as principal of Trinity School and owns Greatness Gym, a faith-based sports performance facility.
He is running for the Pueblo District 60 School Board to continue his life’s work and defend what matters most: the innocence, safety, and limitless potential of children. Derion believes schools should reflect the values of Pueblo families—not political trends—and will work to ensure every student learns in a high-quality, character-driven environment built on respect, discipline, and opportunity. Above all, Derion loves Pueblo and believes in its youth. This community shaped who he is, and he is committed to giving back through service and leadership.

D60 At-Large
Daniel McHenry
Daniel McHenry has dedicated the majority of his life to public service. As a young man, he served six years in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he worked for the State of California in Veterans Services as a Disabled Veterans Outreach Specialist, where he had the privilege of helping those who served our nation. That work was transformational and deeply rewarding, and after a long career he retired from state service in 2014.
Soon after, Daniel embarked on a new path in child welfare with San Bernardino County, where he has served for the past eight years. His work with children from broken homes and the foster care system has profoundly shaped his perspective. He has held newborns born drug-exposed and seen teens who see no value in education. These heartbreaking realities convinced him that the most vulnerable children are the ones who most need strong advocates and opportunity. Daniel believes firmly that a solid, well-rounded education is the pathway to a better life—a chance to rise above limited opportunity, scarce resources, or poor role models. This conviction fuels his desire to serve on the District 60 School Board. He is committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to excel academically, gain the skills needed for success.
